"The Promise"

"Isha" - A 26-year-old girl with absolutely no emotions, an orphan who climbed her way up to starting her own company.

"Ajay" - A 26-year-old happy boy who works alongside her in her office. He isn't just a colleague but also her best friend since their post-graduation days. They serve as an inspiring example that a boy and a girl can indeed be the best of friends.

They share numerous aspects of their lives but even Ajay remains unaware of the reason behind Isha's lack of emotions. Isha isn't rude, but she isn't overly expressive either. Ajay has never felt the need to inquire about her past, as if she would have voluntarily shared it when appropriate.

In today's world, despite the public acceptance of cross-gender friendships, there remains a subtle undercurrent of skepticism. People may outwardly claim to be open-minded, but behind closed doors, they might still harbor doubts and judgments.

Isha and Ajay have promised each other that they would maintain their friendship, with a unique condition: " If either of them develops feelings for the other, they should step back from their friendship without disclosing their emotions to one another ". This unconventional approach is Isha's idea, as she wishes to protect Ajay from potential suffering or misinterpretations of her actions or professional commitments. While it may seem peculiar, Isha believes it to be a practical solution to safeguard their friendship.

Do you think that they will break this promise?

I mean do they love each other?
